Sudeshna Sarkar KATHMANDU, April 25: Synonymous with the democracy movement in Nepal, the Koirala family has led the fight against autocracy in the 50s against the Rana Prime Ministers, from the 60s to 90s against two Kings and now, again against King Gyanendra. As a thin, gangling boy, Mr Girija Prasad Koirala had seen his elder brothers lead the battle in 1950. In 1959, his elder brother Bishweshwor Prasad Koirala became the first elected Prime Minister of Nepal and since then, the Koirala brothers have given the country four premiers.
