Statesman News Service Kolkata, April 24: After Jawaharlal Nehru University, Calcutta University is the second university of the country to start an MPhil course in an interdisciplinary stream called History of Sciences. The course will be started from the next academic session onwards.

It will be an amalgamation of both science and social science disciplines. The faculty of both these streams will be included in the course. Funds required for starting this course will be accrued from the Rs 9.35 crore granted by the state government to the university on its completion of 150 years.
