Apr. 25--Low-cost immunizations available The number of mumps cases in Sedgwick County continued to increase Monday, with local health officials now reporting a dozen cases. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment also reported more cases, with the statewide total at 227. The Sedgwick County Health Department said Monday that the newest cases are in two 18-year-olds. Statewide, Douglas County continues to have the most cases. Thirty Kansas counties in addition to Sedgwick and Douglas are reporting mumps cases. The Kansas cases seem to be part of an epidemic that began in Iowa, where nearly 1,000 cases have been reported.…
