Lead (Pb)-free active PFC controller IC, FAN7528, reduces standby power as much as 320 mW in switch-mode power supply designs under 250 W. Operating in critical conduction mode, it integrates dual-output control function to increase efficiency with universal ac input and is able to eliminate input voltage-sensing network. Controller utilizes variable on-time control method and integrates open-feedback disable function (65 [micro]A) for system protection against power surges.
