Vietnam: Visa procedures for Chinese tourists to be made simpler.

Section: Regional News - In an effort to rectify the problem of a declining number of Chinese visitors to Vietnam, travel companies have strongly urged authorities to simplify the arrival procedures for Chinese travellers.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), in the first quarter of this year Chinese arrivals to Vietnam dropped by 25 per cent in comparison to the same period last year.

A correlation exists between this decline in Chinese visitors to regulation No. 849, which regulates and manages Chinese travel permits for touring Vietnam.
