President Yoweri Museveni Met with Opposition Leader, Daniel Otubo.

In a surprise move, President Yoweri Museveni has held a meeting with opposition politician and Otuke MP Daniel Omara Atubo.

Museveni and Atubo met at the President's home in Rwakitura, Kiruhuura district, early last week. The meeting lasted over an hour, sources said.

The details of the meeting were not established and sources said it was a one-on-one meeting.

But government sources said it might be an outreach plan by Museveni to work with "principled opposition leaders" from northern Uganda where the NRM performed poorly in the last presidential elections.
