Apr. 12--Kendra Alston says she has found a way to guarantee that students will take their assignments home with them to complete: Replace textbooks with newspapers. "They want to take the newspapers home to study," says Alston, academic facilitator at Kennedy Middle School in southwest Charlotte. "That's not something they do with their textbooks."
