Columbia University held a two-day conference to discuss democracy with Libyan academics, culminating in a lecture by Moammar Qaddafi himself. Among his illuminating revelations: "There is no state with a democracy except Libya on the whole planet." Libyan professors at the event were from al-Fatah University, which has a history of hanging student dissidents.
