Kudos to Jay Nordlinger for pointing out the parallels between Baathist/jihadist terrorists in Iraq and Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) in Peru ("Terror on Trial," April 10).
Mr. Nordlinger mentioned that the first trial of Abimael Guzman--Shining Path's leader--was a military trial. Guzman was made to wear prison stripes and put in a cage. Contrast that with Saddam Hussein, who in court is always clad in a starched white shirt and dark suit.
It is greatly to Hussein's advantage to be allowed to wear what, in the West, would pass for business ...
