Apr. 6--The Triangle's NBC television station will have a new owner soon.
NBC Universal agreed to sell WNCN, or NBC-17, to Media General along with three other stations in Columbus, Ohio; Birmingham, Ala.; and Providence, R.I., for about $600 million.
Media General owns TV stations and newspapers across the Southeast, including The Tampa Tribune, Richmond Times-Dispatch and Winston-Salem Journal.
