Palawan is stepping up its bid to be the alternative conference venue with the opening of a new convention center at the province's premier hotel, the Legend Palawan.

There's no other venue in Puerto Princesa that can host a big event and at the same time provide accommodations. Opened in 2005, the Legend Palawan Convention Center can seat 1,100 people in a theater-type arrangement and 650 people in a banquet-style setting. It can also be converted into three halls.

The convention center is a wi-fi zone and offers audiovisual equipment and services.
