MORRISON: Still about as much fun as you can have on the street. I'd opt for the coupe's better looks and stiffer structure, but it's a can't-lose proposition either way. One thought crept into my head over and over as I spent a weekend with this soon-to-be-replaced M3: Will the new car, with its V8, lose any of this generation's diamond-bit sharpness and high-strung responses? If so, it will be a galactic tragedy. Then I think of the Porsche 911 and how we always wonder how that car can possibly get any better-yet it always seems to do so. If BMW can do what Porsche does, the new M3 will be nothing short of amazing. Fingers crossed.
