A throw down on sound
As a Suzuki GSXR 1000 rider, I agree with Steve Thompson's March 20 column on bikers' noise pollution. If every other internal-combustion engine needs a muffler, why doesn't a Harley?
Straight pipes don't save lives; they just annoy the hell out of everyone within earshot. Vroom-vroom, "Look at me in my doo-rag, half-helmet and black leather!''
