TRADITIONALLY, virtual private networking focuses on creating a private network using the infrastructure of the public Internet. Reason being, the Internet is sometimes viewed as an insecure means of transmitting data because of the fact that it being a public network, opportunities for modification, intercepting and deletion of data are possible.
