Pity the UK medical students, unable to interview for their chosen jobs lest somebody offer them a post because they seem enthusiastic and are known to work hard.
Instead, jobs are allocated by computerised questionnaire, in a process that relies entirely on students' unverified self-assessments (no points for modesty). We can't have jobs going to proper doctors over spin doctors now, can we?
