COME July 1, Malaysians may no longer use the restricted passport. I fear traffic jams into Singapore will result, far more massive then before. Presently, Malaysians going to and fro with restricted passports breeze through the Malaysian Immigration checkpoints. They form the majority of workers on the daily commute. Traffic congestion on the Johor side is largely due to insufficient open Immigration counters and lack of police enforcement, leading to queue jumping and use of inappropriate lanes.
