THE Government will not compromise the country's interests in negotiations with Singapore on several issues, including the construction of a bridge to replace the Johor Causeway.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar assured that the interests of the people would be protected, as would the sovereignty and dignity of the country.

"Both countries are not prepared to sacrifice their rights, but rest assured we are working together to find a solution through the ongoing negotiations," he told a Press conference in the Parliament lobby yesterday. …
