Denmark's Cartoon Controversy
Fareed Zakaria's Feb. 13 article "Islam and Freedom" raises many interesting and worrying questions. Denmark has been taught a lesson. While we are recovering from the boycotts, numerous abuses of our flag, death threats and burned-down diplomatic representations, we must now look inward and reflect over the deeds that triggered the outrage. Most certainly we must also figure out some way to avoid breaking religious taboos without implementing constraints that would impede us from maintaining our fundamental values.
