Grand Avenue Field's building may be for sale. (shopping mall)

Dayton Hudson Corp. officials are searching for a buyer for the Marshall Field's building at The Grand Avenue shopping mall, according to local real estate sources.

Meanwhile, a planned $10 million renovation of the eight-story building at 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, has been scrapped.

The Grand Avenue store is not part of the estimated $1.1 billion that Dayton Hudson plans to spend this year to remodel existing stores and build new locations for its department stores and discount retail divisions.

"At the present time, other stores have a higher priority for renovations," said Sue Sorenson, a spokeswoman for Dayton Hudson, Minneapolis, which bought …
