AN LRA officer captured by MONUC and the Congolese army has said he lived like a beast in Congo's Garamba National Park.

He was abducted from Wi-Anaka village in Gulu district on July 1, 1997 by Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army.

In Garamba, Atubo was subjected to torture by nature. In January, his group was hit by a joint UPDF and SPLA force at the Sudan-Congo border, forcing them to scatter.

With a wounded leg, Atubo fled deeper into the 492,000-hectare Garamba National Park.
