Apple Computer Inc. has broadened its Windows offerings by bundling a CD-ROM and a sound card, a move that could ease System 7's migration to the Intel environment.
Apple decided to offer the CD Multimedia Kit for PCs to take advantage of the company's recognized name as a multimedia leader and provide another source of revenue, a company representative said.
But sources familiar with the company's plans offered an additional reason for Apple's move into the Windows market.
