Mar. 22--Lincoln County commissioners got an update Monday from Steve Gilbert, Lincoln's public works director, on several projects that will affect thousands of county residents this summer: Lake Norman water treatment plant The plant serves 8,500 customers -- about 1,000 more than just two years ago, and roughly 20,000 people overall -- and officials had hoped to start expansion two years ago.
