Mar. 18--After operating a small campus in Richboro, Bucks County, for seven years, the Perelman Jewish Day School's board has voted to close it in June and merge it with a larger elementary school in Melrose Park.
In a meeting crowded with concerned parents, the board that oversees Perelman's four Jewish schools voted Thursday night to close the center at the Ohev Shalom Congregation, which has 33 children in first through fifth grades.
Officials said the decision was made after a two-year review and efforts to keep the school operating.
