Ranger Plug 'n' Go Technologies has released a line of transportable ide hard disk cards that we recently had a chance to test. We found the drive useful, reliable and adequately fast.

The hard disk cards can be connected to any pc's parallel port and multiple drives can be daisy chained. The drives offer printer 100% pass-through so that a printer can be attached to the same port. Even other brands of portable drives can be "passed through" and attached to the Ranger drive.

Because the Ranger drive cards are ide drives, not scsi devices, they only require a small (5k) device driver that is automatically installed in config.sys during the software's 30-second …
