Mar. 7--This week, Melissa Emhardt has been trying to keep her third- and fourth-grade students focused on their normal routine, preparing fourth-graders for their state writing test Tuesday and teaching plenty of math, reading and spelling. But it's been a challenge: Their school, Visions Charter in Claremont, is set to close Friday, little more than a week after school officials told parents the news. "I keep telling them, 'Do your best. We'll get through this,' " Emhardt said. "A lot of (students), they've withdrawn. They're not as open now as they have been all year.
