Mar. 8--Law enforcement officials from two states are questioning a man who they say was caught this morning in Alexander County with his wife's dead body in the back of his car.

The suspect was stopped by Alexander County Sheriff's deputies around 4 a.m. on N.C. 16, south of Taylorsville.

Police say they found the body of the woman in the trunk of the man's car. Police in Alexander County say they believe the suspect was driving from South Carolina and had a son living in Alexander County.
