Mar. 16--In a state where more than one-third of counties' populations are declining, central Ohio continues to be a rare bright spot.
Delaware County's population reached 150,268 in 2005, up 5.3 percent in a year, according to the latest U.S. Census Bureau estimates released today.
Though the growth rate has declined -- it was 6.7 percent in 2001 -- Delaware remains the fastest-growing county in Ohio and 34 th fastest nationwide.
"We are continuing to see growth," said Scott Sanders, assistant director of the Delaware County Regional Planning Commission. "But I think it is slowing down."
