Sierra Tucson has developed its own treatment program, the Sierra Model, an integrated approach to the treatment of addictions and mental health disorders in a residential setting. The system combines principles from the medical, psychiatric, physiological, family systems and self-help communities. The company operates a 313-bed facility in Tucson and opened an adolescent care facility in Tucson in September 1991. The 8-year-old company went public in 1989 and has 325 employees.
