Robert David (Bob) Meyers, founder and longtime editor-in-chief/ associate publisher of Cruise Travel magazine, passed away last year at his home in Florida, following a long battle with cancer. He was 67.

Meyers was running his own advertising and design agency in 1979 when he launched Cruise Travel, initially as a digest-sized publication. Within a year his fledgling World Publishing Co. had partnered with Century Publishing Co., and Cruise Travel soon grew into the full-size color magazine it is today.
