Lee Wetherington Homes won four "best overall" awards at the 2006 Parade of Homes design awards competition. The awards were presented during the Home Builders Associations of Sarasota and Manatee Counties' gala at the Hyatt Sarasota on Friday evening.

Wetherington has dominated the design competition for the past decade. But some other familiar faces also stepped to the podium to accept "best overall" awards -- including Neal Communities (three times), Todd Johnston Homes (twice), Pruett Builders (twice) and North Port builder Masterpiece Custom Homes (twice).

Awards also were presented by the University of Florida for "green" (resource-conserving) and "Water Wise" construction (see page 20).
