Mar. 10--The Dutch financial-services firm ING Group is upbeat about the steady growth of its life-insurance operations through Thai ING Life, following a 42.6 percent growth in total premiums in 2005 to 2.48 billion baht.
According to James Brown, chief executive officer of ING Life in Thailand, ING achieved 28 percent growth in first-year premiums, generating 920 million baht against industry growth of only 3 percent, while its renewal premiums increased 91 percent to reach 1.56 billion baht.
