Mar. 3--Deutsche Bank says it remains positive about the future prospects for Thailand and interested in actively facilitating the government's planned megaprojects.

"We are optimistic about Thailand's economy and are forecasting that economic growth will reach 5.2 percent in 2006, up from around 4.5 percent seen in 2005," said Colin Grassie, chief executive officer of Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific.

He said the government's 1.8-trillion-baht megaprojects over four years would likely have some impact on the country's current account but added that this was nothing to worry about. Imports would surge during the implementation of the projects and could affect ...
