I own a 1995 Ranger 690 that "leans" to one side badly--even on plane--to the right or starboard. It came with an Evinrude Ficht 175 hp motor. I added a 15 hp Honda kicker on the port side. It didn't develop the roll toward the right until the lower unit was totaled on a fishing trip in Canada. The repair cost was the same as the cost to replace the engine due to a 1.55:1 exchange rate. I replaced it, but only a 200 hp was at the marina. Afterward, I noted the max recommended hp stamped on the plate of my hull was 175 and pointed this out to the installers, who told me it was no big deal as they did that kind of exchange all the time. Since then, I have become aware that having a larger-than-recommended engine could hurt me if I were to be pulled over and inspected. At any rate, the boat seems to function well, except for the tilt.

I have several transom-mounted transducers on the starboard side, from a Simrad CX44 unit and a forward-scanning Interphase Twin-scope, the latter of which has humongous transducers. Up front is a 24-volt Pinpoint 7500, and I'm adding a remote station to my Simrad to send my mapping data to my front casting deck while using the bow mount. I also have a thru-hull video mounted that I view through my Twinscope, and I'm adding a thruhull light to improve viewing. It has all I need to maximize fishing capabilities.
Do you have any suggestions to improve the ride, such as adding trim tabs? I hate to start all over on a new boat. Thanks for your suggestions, and I can live with the inspection risk for now.
