Senate votes to renew Patriot Act
A day after lawmakers agreed to revise portions of the anti-terrorism law, the Senate voted 89-10 to approve the measure. The bill is expected to win House approval and be signed by President Bush next week, before 16 provisions are due to expire. The new bill makes 14 security measures permanent and extends 2 others for 4 years.
