The Brunei Book Fair 2006 currently held at Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex, Berakas received a boost when the Asean Book Publishers Association (ABPA) participated for the first time to underline the fact that a regional alliance benefits publishers as well as writers in member countries.

With seven out of the 10 Asean countries firmly under its belt, ABPA's president Thanachai Santichailkul said that the alliance's formation would hopefully contribute to the Asean publishing industry's growth.
