Mar. 2--More than 1,000 Thai companies from the food industry are expected to join the Food and Hotel Asia (FHA) 2006, an international food and hospitality event, in Singapore late next month.

Alongside exhibitors, 11 Thai chefs will take part in the FHA Culinary Challenge.

Ting Siew Nui, a project director at Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd, said the event would run from April 25 to 27 at Singapore Expo centre.

About 37,000 visitors are expected with 38 percent coming from overseas. About 81 percent of the exhibitors are expected to take part from 60 other countries.
