Senate limits Patriot Act debate

The Senate voted 69-30 to end debate on the USA Patriot Act and bring the bill up for a vote, exceeding a required 60-vote threshold. Senate and House leaders are hoping to get the bill approved and sent to President Bush for his signature before 16 major provisions in the anti-terrorism legislation are set to expire on March 10.
