Mar. 1--Thai companies should focus on providing training for would-be leaders if they want to progress to the next level, human resources experts say.

John De Veyra, country head for the human resources (HR) consultancy Hewitt Associates (Thailand), commented that the pool of quality leadership material was shrinking globally, therefore leadership training and HR were becoming increasingly important.

His comments were echoed by Daljit Singh, corporate director of HR at Bharti Tele-Ventures, India's leading mobile-phone operator, who said that it was intense development of HR that pushed the 10-year-old company to be the ...
