Mar. 1--Major Cineplex Group Plc, the country's biggest cinema chain operator, expects its healthy performance to continue this year through new investments in expansion.
The company plans to spend at least 800 million baht on 50 new cinema screen openings and 100 bowling lanes at six of its sites, according to chairman Vicha Poolvaraluck.
The expansion would bring the number of screens to 314 at 36 locations by the end of this year, from 264 screens at 30 locations currently. The company now operates both the EGV and Major Cineplex brands, and also has a 36 percent stake in California Fitness, operated MAI-listed California WOW Xperience Plc.
