Feb. 28--Hickory Grove Elementary School will open its doors to prekindergarten students starting in August.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is moving Bright Beginnings classrooms from four elementary schools to a new satellite center at Hickory Grove, according to a letter from interim Superintendent Frances Haithcock.
The affected programs are at Clear Creek, Idlewild and Reedy Creek elementaries and Joseph W. Grier Academy.
It is unknown how many pre-K students will attend Hickory Grove because officials are currently screening students for the program, said district spokesman Damon Ford. But the district plans to move…
