Mission's message

IN case you've forgotten, tomorrow is doubly significant this year. It isSt David's Day and therefore important to Welsh people all over the world, but also Ash Wednesday andthe first day of Lent the season when at least some Christians go without sweets, alcohol or second helpings.

The Mission to Seafarers has commissioned the Rev Sharon Swain, Rector of East Bergholt in Suffolk, to write a Lent course to help mark the Mission's 150th anniversary this year.

Her parish was birthplace of John Constable, whose famous paintings include barges under construction or trading on the River Stour.
