King Juan Carlos of Spain wants closer business ties between Spain and Thailand.

Section: General News - King Juan Carlos of Spain said on February 23 that corporations in his country could support Thailand's modernisation projects with technology and expertise, The Nation reports.

"The promotion of our companies' cooperation will be mutually beneficial," King Juan Carlos, speaking in Spanish, told the Thailand-Spain Business Forum. "The Spanish presence here has not yet comprehended the potential of Thailand." The forum was organised to provide a venue for 31 leading Spanish firms accompanying the Spanish royal couple to meet with companies here and identify opportunities especially in mega-projects.
