This study describes ADC after a decade of growth. A 1985-86 national sample of 60 ADCs defined three groupings of ADCs by their auspices: Model I (nursing homes, rehabilitation hospitals), Models Ii (hospitals, free-standing, housing authority, senior program, municipal), and special purpose centers (serving veterans, mentally ill, cerebral palsy, blind adults).
