Feb. 24--The Newton-Conover City Schools are looking for a new school board member, and it could be you -- if you live in Conover, that is.
Board vice chairman and Conover district member Mark Canrobert resigned last week because he is moving to China for business reasons, leaving the now-five-member board with the task of appointing a replacement. Canrobert's wife, Mary, is an Observer columnist and teacher at Shuford Elementary. Mark Canrobert was re-elected to a second four-year term in November.
