from BUSINESS LINE, February 22, 2006 Chennai, Feb. 21 - THE Tamil Nadu Government has set up a 24-hour control room at the Animal Husbandry Department to monitor measures to prevent the outbreak of bird flu virus in the poultry farms, according to an official press release

To monitor and coordinate the preventive measures, a high level committee will be created under the Chief Secretary. At the district level, the Collectors will lead teams with representatives of various departments including the Police, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Public Health, Rural Development, the release said
