Feb. 21--A sprawling campus in Mount Airy that in the past has been home to a school for the deaf and a college could next provide shelter for 150 homeless women and children. "This wouldn't just be a shelter plopped into the community," city Managing Director Pedro Ramos said yesterday. "We hope that it would be a campus for job and life-skills training." The campus, in the 7500 block of Germantown Avenue, between Cresheim Valley Drive and Allens Lane, is the home of the New Covenant Church.
