It's not only a good idea but practically an ironclad necessity to book your accommodations well in advance of attending an NHRA event. Luckily, the three must-see events (see page 50) are in close proximity to adequate lodging and first-class dining, so finding a bed and a hot meal shouldn't be a hassle. But don't wait until getaway day to cement your plans.

Accommodations:
There are two ways to go here: contempo or rustic. Bandimere Speedway is in the crosshairs of several major interstate highways, so there is no need to trudge all the way into Denver (about 30 minutes away) for a room. Motels abound within a short distance of the track.
If you're feeling adventurous, head through the village of Morrison and up winding Route 74 that leads into the foothills, where you will find a taste of the Gold Rush. Aging and abandoned mining sites, throwback gambling casinos and the world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheater are scattered across the rugged landscape, with newly built hotels and cozy B&Bs to choose.
