Daytona 500, Feb. 19, Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, Florida
The Daytona 500 isn't NASCAR's oldest, fastest or longest race, but it's still the most famous. The list of winners at Daytona International Speedway includes almost everybody who is anybody in stock car racing, plus notable party crashers Mario Andretti and A.J. Foyt. If you're going, you might as well go early enough for Thursday's 150-mile qualifiers, Friday's IROC and Craftsman Truck races and Saturday's Busch race.
Martinsville 500, April 4, Martinsville Speedway, Martinsville, Virginia
Martinsville has been called "500 laps of road rage'' and worse, but that's precisely why another sellout crowd of 85,000 will show up. They have been racing on the flat, half-mile, paper clip-looking track since 1949, making Martinsville Speedway the only active track with a race in NASCAR's first Nextel Cup season. Bonuses: Every seat is a good one and the hot dogs are legendary.
