Byline: ANDREW LUU
As we sat in the new Dodge Caliber scribbling notes following a spirited run along some of Arizona's twistiest back roads, we found it nearly impossible to jot down a complete thought.
"Is that Dodge's new sport/utility?'' a bystander wondered.
No sooner did we reply and put our head down than another question came our way, "So, are you testing this SUV?''
The Caliber, though it may look like a small SUV, is Dodge's compact sedan replacement for the Neon. But don't mistake the name change for a Chevrolet Cavalier-into-Cobalt-like transformation.
Other than taking Neon's place as Dodge's answer to the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Ford Focus, the Caliber and Cobalt couldn't be more different.
Being different is like a second wind for DCX. Where everyone else zigs, the 300, Magnum and Charger all zag, with bold personas, rear-drive and eight cylinders.
