I have never been a devotee of mortgage payment protection insurance and looking at Mortgage Strategy over the past year or so it would appear that in general, regulators look askance at this product.
Indeed, as you report, a survey by Paymentshield finds that the added burden of regulation is leading to a diminution in take-up of this policy.
